Frank McNamara

Our team

Frank is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway (B.A. and an LL.B) and the University of Edinburgh (LL.M in European law). Frank previously interned in the Office of the Refugee Applications Commissioner (Ireland). He also previously worked as a Presenting Officer in the Refugee Appeals Tribunal (Ireland). Originally joining KNOW RESET as a Country Collaborator for Ireland and Malta, Frank has remained as a Research Assistant. At the moment he is a Trainee in the European Commission, DG HOME, in the unit for Border Management and Schengen Governance/Relations with Frontex. Frank is pursuing a PhD at the European University Institute where he is writing a dissertation entitled: Control and Responsibility in European Union Migration Law and Policy – A study of Externalisation and Privatisation. The work examines a divergence between Member State control and responsibility for migration control within third States.
