The legal basis for resettlement is contained in the Act on granting protection to foreigners (2003). Specific provisions related to resettlement and relocation have been introduced in this Act with the amendments of the Act of 28 July 2011.

Moreover, the Act on foreigners (2003) lays down the conditions governing entry, transit, residence and departure of aliens from Poland, as well as procedures and authorities competent in these matters

Abstract

The Act on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland is a consolidated version of the Act of 13 June 2003 on granting protection to foreigners (Journal of Laws of 2003, No 128, item 1176). It was last amended by the Act of 28 July 2011 on legalisation of stay of some foreigners in the territory of the Republic of Poland. Specific provisions related to resettlement and relocation have been introduced only with the 'Act of 28 July 2011 on legalisation of stay of some foreigners in the territory of the Republic of Poland and on amendments to the Act on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland and to the Act on Foreigners'.
