The Asylum Act (LXXX of 2007) contains the legal basis for resettlement, and the Governmental Decree (1139/2011) launched a Refugee Solidarity Programme in relation to the North-African crisis in 2011.

Abstract

The Asylum Act (LXXX of 2007) contains a specific provision for resettlement:

“Section 7 § (5) The minister may grant refugee status to an alien who was granted recognition as a refugee by the competent authorities of another country or the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and to whom the Geneva Convention applies as declared by the refugee authority.”
