About this website

The Know Reset website has been built with the user in mind. From conception it has been designed to be inter-operable and has been tested using numerous different browsers, browser versions and operating systems and platforms. In addition, it has been developed using open source development tools where possible. This section explains a little about how the site has been built and which tools and libraries have been used.


The Know Reset website has been designed to meet with contemporary web content standards. This means that all of the code that goes into the structuring of the individual pages has been tested and checked to ensure that it has been correctly written.

eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML)

The website has been created using the XHTML 1.0 Transitional Document Type and has been validated using the W3C Markup Validation Service, which considers it to be Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional, which means that the image below can be displayed. Clicking on it transports the user to the validation page, showing how the page validates correctly.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

The Know Reset website also uses CSS in its construction. The CSS used in the website is validated using the W3C CSS Validation Servive and is fully valid CSS 3.0, which means that the image below can be displayed. Again, clicking on it transports the user to the related validation page.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and Atom feeds

The feeds found in the RSS feeds section are written in valid RSS and Atom formats and are validated using the W3C Feed Validation Service, as testified by the display of the icons below.

Open source development tools

The website has been built using open source tools. The Pre-Hypertext Processor (PHP) server-side scripting language is used in the building of the website, while the MySQL open source database platform is used in data storage.
